History:
I Moved to
Newcastle
in October 2007 and got bored of
lying around like a sack of potatoes when I wasn’t at work. Bought the
Mongoose second hand off a mate from back home (
Northern Ireland
) and went out on my
first Thursday nighters in January/February of 2008. I was completely new to
mountain biking, having never owned any kind of suspension bike before or
done any off-road riding. Since then I’ve never looked back, and I’m pretty
regular on both the Thursday nighters and the Sunday rides, I love it. I
have ditched the Tesco Value bike light set though…
Favourite trails:
Kirroughtree red was fantastic when we did that in July, but I love all the
trail centres I’ve done. Having said that,
Newcastle
under 3 feet of flood water took
some beating too.
Bike Hates:
Car drivers who don’t look out for bikes. Punctures!

Judy Dench – she scares me.
Personal Achievements:
Leeds half marathon with really sore ankles, (most of) Toughguy, quitting my
rubbish job with Ulster Bank and getting into IT
