On Sunday 2nd October the Crazy Gang sub-section of MidAirCrisis, consisting of Andy, Jason and Sean took up the HardRock Challenge at Dalbeattie. This consisted of a 10 mile RUN (yep, no bike, crackerjacks) followed by a trek  around the Red Trail on a bike this time.

Anyway, they all got round OK and didn't finish last, with about 4 minutes between Triathlete Andy and  Jason the finish. Sean was close behind. Don't ask why I'm reporting a running race (yuk) here on this hallowed cycling site. I'll try never to mention one again. Can't find any results on the web - only old events posted. Shame on you, Seven Stanes people. Anyway Andy must have finished in about 3 hours 10 with Jason 3 - 15 and Sean on 3 - 40. It took me that long to do just the ride last time I was there, although there was all that photography to do of someone lying face-down in the dykes on Jacobs Ladder and flatbacking between the Terrible Twins!

Jason was disappointed that his new Scott MC50 didn't arrive on time for the event. He wanted something a bit lighter for climbing rather than his trusty Coiler Dee Lux. There's some great deals to be had at Rutland Cycling but they're off the pace on delivery unless they just don't like Jay, as his Coiler took ages aswell!

RESULTS!

Posit’n Race No. Run finish Bike finish Net bike time Name Age

26 31 01:27:16 03:13:57 1:46:41 Jason 34
29 26 01:27:16 03:35:22 2:08:06 Sean 18

As you can see, our Dynamic Duo finished pretty close to each other, with Andy best at the run and Jason heading the ride. Andy's lad Sean wasn't too far away either! (might have been faster if he hadn't clattered my Barracuda! - just kidding, Sean).
