NMBC's "G Man", Ian B pictured at his and one of the Club's favourite ride spots, Spooky Wood at Glentress, Peebles - best known of the famous Seven Stanes MTB Trail Centres in Southern Scotland. Header photo shows the Club's outing there in October 2010. GET YOUR OWN VID ON HERE! The name Midaircrisis came to the Gollum during a 2003 brainstorming session to think up a suitably barmy moniker for the few homeless riders around Newcastle at that time. NMBC was born in June 2007 to let the rest of the World and particularly lone NE riders know we exist. Why not be a part of it? OUR RIDESThursday nighters are 10-25 milers, 7:00pm start at Holystone, 3-3.5 hours and generally OK for fit new riders but you need decent lights you can see with, NOT CANDLES. You MUST wear a cycle helmet. Sundays are generally much longer, 8:00am to 10:00am starts from ride venue ending around teatime, and much harder rides. Gloves, waterproof coat, snack and drink recommended. Carry basic tools. WHAT CAVE?It's actually the Gollum's house - catches many people out, that one! Local rides almost always start from it at Holystone on the bikes. Some may require transport if a little further afield. Away days also start at Holystone where we sort out the transport for however many bodies need it (with luck!) unless you live closer to the ride venue in which case we meet you there. DANGER!Cycle Sports can be dangerous, so we take this basic precaution - download our Emergency Contacts Form via link on left and bring it with you (also available at the Cave). Recent & Future Rides: Sun 2 Oct - Kielder FOR ALL! SAT 8 Oct - Hairy Coo, Perth Sun 16 Oct - Hexham or Ingram |
You ride with NMBC/MAC entirely at your own risk. We also host Cycle Speedway! |
