A bit late, but after Terry had collected Andy and Jason, complete with Andy's new Specialised Epic susser which is a beautiful thing, and feels like half the weight of our big travel beasties, we made it to John's at Cramlington at 7.30ish. After the recent weather this was a glorious night for biking and we headed off towards Hartford where we couldn't get through the undergrowth that we surmounted on our last attempt, and turned back after Andy spilled blood on a tree, bursting his lip and getting a lush bark rubbing on his shirt, as well as a handsome spattering of blood.  Moments later he capped it off by hitting this bridge!

That left a bit more road stuff, but we got into Plessey Woods and did the short but this time legal waymarked route around the park (we thought), except for these evil steps, which do look suspiciously like a footpath!

John was suffering from a nasty chest infection and Jason was still having problems with his left leg, probably after his gym session last week, but Andy didn't care much and kept stretching the field on the ups and flats. From Plessey we rode back into Bedlington alongside the golf course and down onto the riverside. From there we rode south and crossed the A189 at the Bebside junction, through Asda's carpark and onto the trail that follows the railway line to Newsham. West from there on the A1061 cycle path re-crossing the A189 at Shankhouses and into the cycle paths of Cramlington back to John's place about 10.00pm, with the sky darkening.

Here's a very mundane vid on the way down to the river in Bedlington. Guess what happened next?
