Again Jason was awol and not responding to texts, so John and Terry  set off from John's again at Cramlington at 7.30pm on Thursday 13th July 2006. We rode south to Seghill, and as has become somewhat normal now, we came across something weird. Here it is:

We were very careful to watch the sky on the way past in case he dropped his knife and fork aswell.

Here's a few more shots of The Spoon:             and one vid        two vids

Another midweek ride with the Terrible Trio of Jason, John and Terry setting off from Cramlington about 7.45 ish and heading out past the Garden Centre over to Shotton Grange where Golly began to tire - here's proof of his ultimate pace with J & J waiting ahead for him to catch up.   We followed the old A1 towards Stannington, but as the traffic has a very bad effect on Golly's brain cell he turned off it just north of the village onto a road that led only into a farmyard. Unwilling to turn back, we found ourselves in a field with a great big Hawthorn hedge around it    After having a good look around, we decided there was only one way to go - over it! However, that looked impossible without serious injury to those bare limbs, so Terry had the bright idea of using the Barracuda as a ladder, dropping it onto the top of the hedge.    After 5 minutes staring at the undergrowth on the other side of the hedge he finally took the plunge (literally) and landed with light scratching. We were than able to pass the other bikes over the top and climb (in Jason's case with the assistance of Golly's unstable neck muscle, it hurts now) over the nasty obstacle.

There was only one place to go now, right on the edge of the blasted, infamous, cyclist-murdering A1 to Morpeth.   This driver was OK, but most weren't as generous - I'm still shaking a day later. We continued into Morpeth cutting through County Hall to the A196/A192 roundabout at Stobhill, then up the road towards Bedlington before dropping into the wonderful village of Hepscott. Couldn't see why Jason stopped at this sign, unless he knows something we don't.    We jumped back out onto the A192 to Hartford Bridge and Plessey Woods but stayed on the road just in case the sky got darker, cutting through Crammy's great bike tracks and back to base about 9.30pm. This was one of the quickest 19 milers we've done and if it hadn't been for the Field Trip maybe the quickest ever!
