Name: Keith G
Occupation: Quality Engineer Nuclear Services
Current bike: Whyte E120, good
old British Engineering made with space age materials, love it!!
Dream Bike: Tricked out Santa Cruz Nomad with
all the bells and whistles for going to the Alps.
Favourite bike clothes: Fox
Favourite colour is black
Favourite food is...... no idea, probably Italian
as I do a mean Arrabiatta sauce which makes Lloyd Grossburgers taste like
water!
Other enjoyments: I love snowboarding, camping
and walking.

My job takes me away from the club sometimes for
1-2 months, however it helps me buy nice shiny things like my Whyte, so a
bit of Ying and Yang going on in my life when it comes to bikes. I always
try and ride when I am away also but we work silly hours when on site so it
gives me very little time to do what I love doing. For example I have been
trying to get to Glentress for a year now but to no avail, well we nearly
went last week but the heavens opened and most of the North East sank :(
This time when I am away I will be living in a
converted barn right at the bottom of The Quantock Hills and MBR had one of
their trails passing within a mile of my dwelling so I am feeling a bit more
confident about riding this time.
Been with the club over a year now, I think I
was the original member of NMBC when the mid air crisis lot decided to start
the club, have to say they are a great bunch of people who always help and
have a laugh, which to me is one of the most important things in life.
I seem to have moved into the clubs meet and
greet role helping new members find the ride start (The secret Gollum's cave)
and with the purchase of a new helmet cam became the clubs unofficial video
camera man which I enjoy. Above all I like helping people get into the club
and into the sport as the more the merrier! I also think this club has got a
hell of a lot going for it
so why not give some time to let others
experience it.
My view on the club is that it's growing slowly
and steadily with new faces coming along and getting involved with the club
spirit which is rain or shine, injured or healthy we always have fun above
all else!! Club needs some glamour now though, too much testosterone right
now, we need some women to balance the scales, I know they are out there as
I have seen them buying bikes in shops, so yea Terry they do exist right
like Santa!!
Favourite trails: Got to be Glentress, Whinlatter
, Ae, Kielder was good but it's being taken over by the improvements on the
others, same as Dalby.
Bike Hates: Thieves of course but also people
walking their dogs whilst mountain biking, Dogs unfortunately are daft, when
you come towards them at 30 mph they try and jump on you, meaning one upset
owner, one injured cyclist and probably a dead dog when your front wheel
chops it in half, don't do it OK!!
Personal Hates: Anyone or anything that would
hurt another not in defence.
Personal Achievements: Getting a Commendation
from Surrey Police for bravery for taking down someone who did the above on
regular occasions.
Well that's me!
