See forum.

Ian A

And I'll just tack on apologies from me, the Gollum, as I obviously caused the final (and only "real") split of the night.

Recapping, I was sh!te on the bike again, like previous 2 Sundays, Thursday and Tuesday nights but I just didn't know why until the 'flu struck me down at the Xmas Do on Friday evening. I spent most of the weekend wrapped up in bed.

So, just to get round the route tonight I kept taking the easy route - first at Whitley Bay Mini Golf where Ritchy stayed with me on the road and where we waited alongside the cliffs at Jon's accident site.

Then past the St Mary's Headland where Matt was my companion as you lot hit the Lighthouse.

And finally, after Jason's crank fell off, when I knew I wouldn't get through the Hollywell Racetrack without making you all wait I kept to the high path up through the Village, with Chris K, Al, Stephen G and Ritchy following me by their own choice.

That's where Ian rang to tell me Jon had his puncture so I said we'd meet at the edge of the field on yon side of the Dene where both groups would emerge. From the foot of the concrete steps Stephen led "my" group through the Dene and over the little bridge then out into the fields. At that point everyone in my party knew I was behind them.

I was again trailing behind - I could hardly ride the bike by then. And I did indeed wait where I said I would after emerging from the Woods, but the others kept their heads down and vanished, although it looks like they looked back and saw me but just kept going!

So I kept my end of the bargain and met up with Speedian's main party but I'll still take the wrap for the others failing to do so, that's why I'm here.

Normally at this point I make the grand declaration "It won't happen again". But it will.

Keep watching and if you fancy a ride out with us, drop us a line here: bailout@midaircrisis.org.uk
